ALYSSA (VOICEOVER): Vilgefortz launches an assault on Montecalvo, sacrificing his own forces to break the sorceresses' defenses. In the attack, Margarita is killed. Yennefer calls on Fringilla to help stop the rogue mages from teleporting away. Fringilla rescues Istredd, who’s ready to sacrifice himself to break Vilgefortz's control over the monoliths.

When they finally come face-to-face, Yennefer and Philippa overpower Vilgefortz. She briefly slips into his mind and learns the true shape of his plan: experimentation on Ciri’s womb. Vesemir chooses to face Vilgefortz alone and is killed.

Cornered, Yennefer and the sorceresses make their last stand. Fringilla reaches her with news that Istredd’s plan worked and, with their powers of teleportation restored, the sorceresses cut down the last of Vilgefortz's novices. Vilgefortz races back to his keep to stop Istredd, but arrives too late. Fringilla carries the dying Istredd to Montecalvo, where he tells Yennefer to find Stygga Castle and put an end to Vilgefortz.

Elsewhere, the Rats kidnap a child for ransom and Ciri brutally kills every one of the guards that stand between them and escape. As the Rats celebrate, Mistle, unsettled by what she has seen, confronts Ciri directly. She warns her that this darkness will consume all of them. Separately, Bonhart overhears a guard describing the massacre and comes away with a single lead: Hotspurn.

Back at Montecalvo, the sorceresses destroy the Book of Monoliths, honoring Istredd's dying wish. Yennefer, with nothing left to lose, teleports directly into Nilfgaard to search for Ciri.
